red mail Firth 1790-1890 Leeds - Aust
I'm trying to find information on 2 and possibly 3 brothers. Their father (Abraham) is listed as a cloth weaver on the death cert. of 1 brother (also called Abraham)who died at Smythsdale, Vic. Aust. c1899 aged 86 y. The older brother, Joseph Priestly Firth b1808? and a possible 3rd brother, the youngest? Samuel Firth. We know Joseph and Abraham Firth were transported to Tasmania c1841 for a joint crime. Family folklore says the 3 brothers parted company of the wharf in Aust. and lost contact with each other over time. The fact the older brothers were convicts and possibly all 3 of them, has been a very carefully guarded secret, and only a few of todays generation know of this fact. So if anyone can help expand this puzzle please let me know.
