red mail Morton Family
A friend of mine is struggling to get any further back than his grandfather, Herbert Morton. At the time of the 1901 census he was living as a domestic gardener in Whixley. Thirty-four with a wife, Jane (Clayden) and sons (Harry, Frank and Walter) his birthplace is said to be Lincolnshire but we cant find him on earlier censuses. We know from his marriage certificate that his father was George and think he came from Yorkshire. Can you help.
