red mail Taylor, Wilcock, Lightowler, crosley
Interested in the TAYLOR family of Thornhill. Earliest record in my family tree is Thomas TAYLOR born circa 1580. He married Elizabeth (WHITE or DICKSON - still to be confirmed). they had two daughters Elizabeth and Dorothye and four sons, Thomas, Andrew, Bartholomew and John. Andrew and Bartholowmew, along with their cousin Richard, worked for the SAVILLES at Thornhill Hall (Bartholomew was serving there at the time of the siege)... I have Andrews will and copies of the Saville household accounts showing their salaries etc. (I also have a copy of a 1634 map of Thornhill showing all the "tenants" names allocated to various plots of land around the village). About 7 generations later Martha TAYLOR married Isaac LIGHTOWLER. Their daughter Harriet then married Edward WILCOCK in the early 1800's. I haven't, as yet, been able to trace the family of Isaac LIGHTOWLER but I do have about four of the previous generations of WILCOCK's, back to the early 1700's with James WILCOCK and Ann BLACKBURN. for my fourth family, the Crosleys, I only have a couple of generations around the late 1700's/early 1800's ending with Richard Crosley who had only daughters thereby ending this particular branch. (One of the daughters married a Joshua...
