A number of CuriousFox correspondents have asked for information about relatives of families connected with the Huskar Pit disaster which occured in July 1838 when 26 children aged between 7-17 were killed while trying to escape through a day hole while a terrible storm flooded their mine. You might like to know that the story of this terible tragedy and its aftermath is now available in a book called "Children of the Dark" and published by Sutton Publishing. If you read it, please let me know what you think of it.
