red mail Upton of Wilmslow Cheshire
Does anyone, anywhere, know who were the parents of John Upton of Wilmslow in Cheshire? He is described as a "gentleman". He was born on 13 March 1636 and died on 15 January 1720, he married Alice Kelsey of Long Lane, Wilmslow, she was born in 1634 and died 29 November 1717. She and her husband are buried at St. Bartholomew's Church in Wilmslow. John Upton claimed to be descended from the Upton's of Ingmire Hall in Cumbria, his own descendants were a distinguished lot but settled in Somerset. Any help whatever would be hugely appreciated
I wonder if anyone can help me to find out more about John Miniken who died in 1825 or 1826? He left a will in which he described himself as "A yeoman of Sedbergh" but I can't find an entry for his burial as few Sedbergh records seem to be online and I'm based in Hertfordshire. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
