My 3x gr grandfather was Joseph Lee b 1790 in Norton. He married Betty Goodlad from Holmesfield and moved to Sheffield. In the 1851 census he is living there with his wife and grandchild, my gr grandfather. There is also a lodger Thomas Biggin aged 19 b Norton. Would love to hear from anyone who has any info about Lees from Norton.

I'm looking for any information about the family of Richard and Martha Bingham. Both were born about 1796 - Martha in Norton, Derbyshire. Richard was a scythe smith. They had at least the following children, mostly born in Norton: Peter (born ca 1819), Sarah (born ca 1821), Richard (born ca 1826), Thomas (born ca 1831), Elizabeth (born ca 1832) and Joseph (born ca 1836). They were living in Sheffield by the time of the 1841 Census.

I am trying to find any detail of the above person.I know he was born in Norton,Derbyshire and married Eliza (Wheatman?) in 1834. He probably died in about 1847 as Eliza remarried William Elliott before 1850. I think James father & mother were James Kilner b1790 and Ann Stone. Thanks Malcolm

The Redfearns lived in this Norton from before 1757 when Thomas Redfearn was born there - which is as far back as I have made it so far. This is my direct ancestor. Of course we all originate in Redfearn Wood which is now in Rochdale. Can anyone help??
