Samuel Hirst, (DOB 29/06/1829), Publican at the Queen’s Head Inn (13 Mason Green, Ovenden) was living there in 1901 with his sister Alice Thomas (nee Hirst), together with some of her children - Harriet Thomas (C1873), Edgar Thomas (C1874) and twins Eliza & Selena Thomas (C1876). Are any other descendents researching the Hirst and Thomas families? Thomas Hirst (C1805) and wife Selina (C1804) in 1881 were living at No 13 Mason Green – Queen’s Head Inn – with innkeeper son Samuel Hirst (DOB 29/06/1829). Also living there were his widowed daughter Harriet Whitley (C1845) and her son Hirst Whitley (C1862) and his other grandchild Sarah Thomas (C1867). Ten years earlier in 1871 another son – Thomas Hirst (C1831) was living with him at the inn, together with another grandson - Harry Thomas (C1865). Any other descendents researching the Hirst-Thomas lines?

Researching Alice Hirst (C1840) who married John George Thomas (2nd wife) and had 5 children on 1881 census. They were Walter, Harriet, Edgar, Eliza & Selena and were living at 23/24 Mason Green. Researching John George Thomas married Alice Hirst (2nd wife) after having had George (C1847) & Arthur (C1858) to 1st wife (unknown). Alice's children were Walter (C1872) who married Grace Ann Uttley Isles, Harriet (C1873), Edgar (C1874), Eliza & Selena (both C1877). MIGHT be son of John Thomas and 'Nancy'who christened a John George Thomas at Illingworth on 22/02/1829. Alice was widow by 1881 and living at 23/24 Mason Green with stepsons and own children.
