red mail sanderson
my grandad John Albert Sanderson was born at a place called Top Engine in Greasborough in 1889 mothers name, Elizabeth and fathers name Charles.According to the records I have he had 3 brothers. Charles Henry, Fred and my grandad John Albert and a sister Mary Anne. I think Elizabeth his mother must have died very soon after he died as there's no mention of her in the census for 1891 and perhaps both parents had died before the next census as all the siblings were registered as "lodgers" at 172 Psalters Lane, Masborough in the 1901 census. has anyone out there any idea at all where Top Engine may have been? We have an ald map that shows a Old Engine at upper haugh so was it near there?
