red mail Edward Wright 1878-1952
I am trying to trace my husband's grandfather, Edward Wright. On the Census returns of 1881 and 1891 state his place of birth as Ecclesfield and residence as Wincobank Ecclesfield. His father was Joseph Wright and his mother Sarah A Wright (possibly nee Guest). He married Elizabeth Sarah Carter and had three daughters, Elaine Sarah, Dorothy Cynthia and Kathleen E Wright. He was in the Royal Artillery during WW1 and was posted to Kilkenny during the uprising in Ireland. However, either his date or place of birth is incorrect. I know when he came out of the army he was a County Court Baliff in Sheffield and lived with his family at 164 Oaks Fold Road. I would be greatful for any help identifying Edward Wright.

red mail Thompson Family
I am looking for the family of George Ernest Thompson - born Brightside Sheffield 23 April 1877 - father Thomas Thompson - mother Elizabeth Thompson formerly Cherryl living at 6 Cross Macro Street Brightside. George married Florence Alice Dawson born 16 March 1877 - father John Dawson - mother Alice Ashmore Dawson formerly Newbrook of Tower ?incobank Ecclesfield. They were married in Islington London on the 27 July 1895. The 1st son was Thomas Reginald Thompson born Islington London on 22 August 1895. 2nd son was Ernest Archibald Thomson born + - 1896 or 1897. The 1901 census says he was born in Birmingham and he was 4 years old. 3rd son was Albert Edward Thompson born 22 July 1898 in West Brightside Sheffield. They then emigrated to Durban South Africa - no idea what date but Ernest did serve in the Durban Garrison during the 1st WW. I cannot find the birth certificate for Ernest Archibald Thompson and am wondering if anyone has any idea where to look for him. I have the birth and marriage certificates for the rest of the family but desperately need Ernest's birth certificate. According to family he was known as Archie and not Ernest. Also according to family all children were baptised. Thank you Jane
