Looking to expand on the information that I have on Herbert Harper, his wife Ellen and their family. Herbert was born in Abbotsley, Huntingdonshire, and worked on the railway. He moved to the Wortley area of Leeds and married Ellen Young in 1882. they had five sons before moving to Ardsley appx 1893/1894, where they had a further 4 children. There is a strong railway connection, Herbert was an engine driver, at least one of his sons, Joseph was the same and two of his grandsons, Raymond b.1923 and Kenneth b.1925 as well.In the 1901 census the family were at 23, Railway Terrace, E.Ardsley, Parish of St. Michael. I believe that there are quite a few of the family still in the West Riding area and would welcome any contact with anyone researching the family history.
