Looking for connections to George Dawson married Sarah Hobson in 1799 at Crofton, Wakefield. They had ~ 8 children from 1800 to 1814 at Crofton. I am a descendant of eldest son George Dawson b1801 who was transported in 1832.

My Grandfather MAURICE DARWELL, along with 7 of his siblings was born at Norths Yard Crofton in 1911. His eldest sister, Jane, who was born at Little Lever, Lancs in 1901 was murdered at the council school in 1920.Maurice married Esther MARSHALL in 1932 and they lived at Fourth St. New Crofton where my father Derek was born in 1932. I know very little about my father's background and would love to hear from anyone who has any information. Many thanks in anticipation. Dee.

I am researching Johnstone (Scotland c. 1848) of Sharlston near Wakefield - John Johnstone was a grocer, his wife was Emma Thompson (Newcastle 1848) married in Morpeth. Their son Jaspar Johnstone (1878) was my grandfather. His other sons were John, William, Ernest and Lawrence. Also the Brogdens: John Thomas Brogden (Ilkley c. 1841) married to Susey A. Smith (Denholme c 1840). Their children were Charles Henry, Hannah, Edgar, Ezra, Flora A. and Zillah. Zillah was my maternal grandmother.They lived at Low Common, Altofts.
