red mail Atkin Edward
I am descended from Edward Atkin b 1794 in I believe Stillingfleet. In the 1851 census he is listed as living in Elvington. He is stated to have been a Butcher and at one time owned a Butchers shop No 38 The Shambles in York. He married Mary Ann Orein 1823, she came from Little Ouseburn. Descendents of Edward were Agricultural Implement makers and were located in Church Fenton and Ulleskelf. There may well be a connection and I would be very pleased to hear from you.
I am looking for reseachers of Edward Atkin 1794 - 1870 of Bolton Percy, near York and his sons, Edward, William, Peter, Levi and George. My family are descended from Peter who lived in Pocklington after he was married. Some of Peter's children moved up to Stockton-on-Tees. Where are their cousins ?
