Brother in Law to Fanny Lyth Scholefield who married Francis Henry Stericker
I am trying to find out about William Barker born 1834, Habton Yorkshire. On the 1861 Census his profession is Surgeon. There are no other clues as to where he was qualified such as Edinburgh or London universities. He was only 27 years old and that seems a little young to be a Surgeon. He must have been fairly wealthy as he was married (Margaret Emily 27 yrs) 1 child Mary, two months old and a Groom, a Servant and a Nurse. Living at Castle Gate, St Leonards, Marlton. His brother, Robert Lyth Barker (Farmer) was witness to the Probate of William Smith Scholefield, Medical Practitioner 1881. William Smith Scholefield's son was called William Barker Scholefield.
