red mail Wade of Middleton Tyas
As far as I can see, my family spent most time in Bishopthorpe, but Henry (b1763 to Robert and Ann Kirkham) was born here. He married Hannah Falkingham (b1763 Bishopthorpe) and later had at least two children in Middleton Tyas: Richard b1791 (a gardener who lived in Bishopthorpe & later Notts and Lincs), George b1793 (lived in Bishopthorpe, Hereford and Newport) & also in Gainford Durham (he had two daughters there: Elizabeth b1797 Hannah b1799). George was my ggg grandfather and married Margaret Ball (parents Joseph and Mary Mathias of Cartlett). One of their sons, Joseph Henry (b1828 Lugwardine), married his cousin, Hannah Atkinson (b1823 Bishopthorpe; parents Thomas and Hannah - Henry's daughter, above - who married John Jackson in Bishopthorpe when Thomas died). Why were Henry & George so restless & what brought them back to Middleton Tyas?
