red mail Rouse family - railway connection Malton 1800's
My ancestors were a Joseph Rouse who was a railway contractor - I believe he died in 1852 in some kind of tragic accident in Malton - he was a railway contractor. His widow Selina Rogers then wed a Thomas Stabler Bellwood - Joseph's daughter Clara Mary Rouse who was born about 1850 in Ballinhassig in Ireland ( think he was over there doing the railway) - Clara married John Herbert Wilson who died at age 29 of small pox in Norwich - she then married William Jackson in Malton - she then died in 1880 I know nothing about where joseph originally came from although at the time of their marriage he was a builder in Reading Berkshire but she was in poole, Dorset . Any help gratefully accepted

red mail Mrs Prince becomes Mrs King
I have a family story that i would love to be able to confirm or contradict. Apparently, one of my female ancestors married first a Mr Prince and then a Mr King, having multiple children with each husband. The story congratulates her on her 'promotion' through marriage. Unfortunately i have no further details of names or places, but i can make some reasonable assumptions. It is most likely that the people involved lived in the Malton/ Vale of Pickering/ Wolds/ Howardian hills region of N and E Yorksire. It is also likely that Reuben King (born c. 1821 in Malton) is from the most recent generation that could have been a child of these marriages. I have details of all subsequent generations but i do not have details of Reuben's parents. Can anyone shed any light on any of this? Thanks, Jim
