Kenneth McLEAN, born c.1752, lived in Loftus, Yorkshire and married Jane Wilkinson in 1787. Looking to find out where he was FROM originally. Suspect from Inverness after the clearances but would welcome any information relating to this or his children, one of whom was Alexander McLean, b. 1803 who also lived in Loftus (formerly Lofthouse) and married Margaret Moore and Elizabeth Jackson. The name "Kenneth" is prevalent among many descendents living in Yorkshire. Possible Whitby connection. Many thanks in advance!

red mail DAY - Loftus, Ormesby
Is anyone else researching the family of John Day, stone mason born Ormesby 1789, died Loftus 1853, possibly the son of Matthew Day and Ann Peacock. John Day married Mary Dawson and had the following children: William, John, Thomas, Robert d., Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Robert, all born in Loftus
Mary Ann Cook b. 1837 Freeborough, Moorsholm. She was likely a servant in the general area and is shown on 1871 census as living in Easington where she remained for the rest of her life. I cannot find any marriage record & her census entries describe her as single. Her son (my great grandfather) Joseph Cook was born 27 June 1863 at Union Workhouse, Guisborough. No record of father. I believe Mary Ann's parents are Hannah and Joseph but have drawn a blank in locating further details of her forbears. Any clues/info gratefully received.
