I am researching the Normans who came to this area to work in ironstone mines from Eye in Northants. John Norman died in Eston in 1956 he was born in New Marske and lived there working in the mines until they closed. His father was my GG uncle.They were also related to the Kirks.

Abel Turner married Alice Neasham 1884 Kirkleatham they had four children Alice,Jenny, Annie may, and Thomas who all lived in Eston.Abel was a butcher.Abel and Alice both died leaving the children orphans.I am related to Annie May she came over to Australia and Thomas came over some time later.I have photos of Alice and Jenny with there husbands and children I don't know their married names but I believe Alice came out to South Australia.Alice had a son Stanley.Grateful for any information
