Moved to Norton, Durham by 1851 when grandchildren Annabella Turnbull and Phoebe Robinson were staying with them. Ann married a Robert Ward connected to railways. Do you have any small pieces of info or even guesses that would help me? Thanks
red mail Longstaff - Gibson
Joseph Longstaff was my great-great-grandfather. He ran a very successful horse-drawn carriage business from Darlington which was carried on by his son James and his son Charles. He is buried in Darlington's West cemetry with his descendents. I haveother information about the family, but with some gaps. James had a daughter Emily, my great grandmother, and other children. The family continued in Darlington until recently.
Longstaff - Gibson
I have just found out, because somebody on here helped me, that my mother's family originated in Barton. Astounding as we had a memory handed down verbally that the family came from Yorkshire. Now I am looking for information on Joseph Longstaff christened 30 APR 1826 at Barton St. Cuthbert, parents James and Isabella. James married Isabella Gibson 21 MAY 1825 Barton St. Cuthbert.
