red mail Agars/Scotchmere of Norton
Looking for infomation on AGARS and SCOTCHMERE family. I know Walter Richard SCOTCHMERE, married Margaret Annie/Emma AGARS 20th Dec 1928 in Norton Parish Church. Thanks in advance for any help. Donna
Looking for ancestors of William Maclean and Mary Smith. William was christened in Hovingham Jan 1770, father Thomas shown as a other details, except that some records show his surname as Clean (without the Mac). William and Mary were married March 2nd 1798 in Norton, and I can find records of six children..Ann, Thomas, John, William, Charles, and Mary. In the census of 1841 and 1851 William and Mary lived at Clarks Yard, Norton. William died 1852, but I believe Mary lived on until early 1867 and died at the age of 98. Charles, who is my direct ancestor, married an Alice Smith from Langtoft in 1833 and the family seemed to have settled in the Rillington/Scampston area. Anything on any members of these families would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am led to believe Edward married Florence Mary Mattison at Malton 1906. Edward died in 1916 age 38. He was a jockey and is thought to have died at Richmond. He is connected with the name "Tommy Trots" this is either a nicname or a name of a horse. I believe he had two daughters one named Margery.
