Looking for information on who opened the first chip shop in Douglas from information I have been given I believe this was in the mid 1800s if anyone could give me any ideas how to find out this information in more detail I would be very grateful thank you as I have been told they were my great grandparents.

Looking to find anything on Catherine Moore, born about 1836 around Douglas. In 1841, she was living with her parents Thomas Henry Moore and Catherine Unknown in Onchan, Isle of Man. She married John Jones 10th Sept 1860 at St Simon, Liverpool. The last record that I can find was as a widow on the 1881 census, in Holyhead, Wales aged about 45.

John Joseph Cowley (1868-1938) died at Mount Havelock, Douglas. His mother, Eleanor, had a Grocer's shop at 1, Back Strand St. until her death in 1895. Any info. on this family would be most welcome. John Joseph married Catherine E. Skillicorn (dau. of William); again any info on this family appreciated.

Is there still a house called The Willows on Victoria Road, Douglas? I have looked on Streetview and can't find it, although there is still a post code for it. We used to stay there when I was a child and I'd like to find it again when I visit the Isle of Man. I think it was near where the old holiday camp was and not far from the Falcon Cliff Hotel.

Living in Douglas, Isle of Man, in 1911. According to family, born in Ireland in the 1860s. According to the census, born in Manchester. Worked as a printer/compositor. Married twice - first to someone called FLETCHER, second to Marie ADDIS. Seven or eight children, including George Milner KELLY, born September 1905. William died in Liverpool in the 1950s.
Any information on Hannah Welsh who was born in Douglas in 1851. Two of her siblings were also born on the Isle of Man - Eliza Jane (b.1844) and Robert(b.1848). She moved to Cumberland and later married John Foster Kennedy.

Anne Rose Stone would have been born approx 1904 on Isle of Mann, her mother worked or ran a Casino. Anne was first born of possibly 5 children. Family stories say that Anne is related to Tom Mix the famous cowboy silent movie star, Tom would be about 24 years old when Anne was born, I am interested in finding out how she may be related. Mix was touring Europe with Circus style Wild West Shows before he was famous, his 1st marriage ended in 1904.
