red mail Cuthberts - mid C18th - late C19th
Does anyone have any further information on Cuthberts from Dungiven or Ballyarton, Cumber? I'm seeking more on the families of two who married Mitchels - could they be related, even?: 1. Martha Cuthbert (b.c1750) m. James or David Mitchel (b.c1743) in about 1778, in Ballyarton, Cumber. Her son William died in Dungiven. 2. Joseph Cuthbert m. Mary Alice Mitchel (b.24 Nov 1829), Martha's granddaughter & William's daughter. At least one of their children was born in Dungiven, though Joseph later had a tannery business in Coleraine. Their children were William Mitchel Cuthbert, Alexander Cuthbert (minister), Mary Alice Cuthbert and Annie Mary Cuthbert (all born in the 1850s and early 1860s, the exact dates are vague).
