My great grandfather Joseph FOSTER (b. 1851 in Abberton, m. Ann COLE 1870) lived and worked in Crowle c.1890-1901. In the 1891 census the family were living at Mordaunt's Farm and Joseph's occupation described as 'farmer'. In the 1901 census the family were living in Gamekeeper's Cottage and Joseph was working as an agricultural labourer. The children of the family were Ellen Hannah, Henry Cory, Jessie M., William Joseph, Alfred James, Elizabeth and Albert. All except Albert were born in Hanbury. I know that Joseph's son, Henry Cory Foster (c.1874-1939) remained in Crowle for much of his life, working as an agricultural labourer. He married a neighbour's daughter, Emma BUTLER (b. 1873), in 1899 and they had seven children: Lilly B. (b.1895), Joseph William (b. 1900), Edith Ellen (b.1901), Gertrude Annie (b.1903), Elizabeth Mary (b. 1907), Arthur Henry (b. 1909) and Albert George, (b.1916). The family lived in Malthouse (Lane?) in 1901. All dates are approximate. I am looking for information on this family, both ancestors and descendants. I am particularly keen to make contact with descendants of the Foster family as I did not have any information passed down to me from this side of my family. Anna

I'm trying to find a connection, if there is one, between George Hastings and the Hastings family of Daylesford, one of whose members was Warren Hastings (1732-1818), Governor General of India.

Hi-I live in the States but have an interest in Dodderhill as this is where my NASH family lived. Their ancestral home was Causeway Meadows. My earliest NASH that I am confident about the information is William NASH b 1704. He married Diana HADON b ?. They were my 5g grandparents. Their son, Joseph b 1762 married Sarah TIMMINS b 1762. Sarah was from Staffordshire. Joseph and Sarah's son, Samuel b 1791 married Ann PRESTON b 1798. Ann was from Staffordshire. I descend from 2 of Samuel and Ann's children: Joseph b 1820 and Diana b 1826. Joseph (b 1820) married an Irish lass by the name of Elizabeth SHERWOOD. Diana (b 1826) married John WELLS. Both of those families ended up here in the States. I would love to meet other NASH descendants!

His son was John Lloyd born in Claines in 1804. Richards father was William Lloyd who married Elizabeth Wedgeberrow in Spetchley in 1774. Any information would be appreciated. With a name like Lloyd I am trying to get back to the Welsh connection.

I am researching my Barnbrook family history part of which is centered in the Eastham,Rochford and Tenbury area of Worcestershire/ Herefordshire. Any information would be welcome. The farm is named Knamus Hole in the 1901 Census! In the 1851 Census William Holl is in residence.In 1879 Timothy Barnbrook died there and in 1881 Joseph and Esther Barnbrook,my great,great grandparents, are living there.I believe the farm then passed to Joseph's daughter Esther who married a George Powell in 1893.I would very much like to know what happened from then on.

I'm related to the Rock family who lived in the Eastham and Highwood area. My great grandfather James Rock (1868 - 1922)and his large family lived in Lime Tree(or Lime Tree Pool as it was known then) Cottage Eastham. Can you solve a family mystery as to why they all moved to Southampton the mid / late nineteenth c. ? And how did the children of a poor agricultural labourer's large family come to own so much property in Southampton (particularly James brother Harry 1863 -)? We have lots of information on the Rocks but don't know the answers as to why all moved en masse, why they picked Southampton, or how they seemed to suddenly become so affluent.

Richard HUMPHREYS (born about 1770 and died 1847) was a blacksmith at Elcocks Brook, and his wife, Elizabeth or Bettey (born about 1770 and died 1870 aged 98) was a beerseller. All their sons, Richard (born about 1800 and died 1857), William and John were blacksmiths around the area. Richard Henry (born 1835 and died ? after 1901)was a blacksmith at Crabbs Cross. Are there any descendants still living in the vicinity? All are listed as being born at Feckenham.

Betsy Cooper married William Heath-- Issue Marianne 1845, George 1847, William 1849, Frances Elizabeth 1852, Benjamin 1856, Joseph 1861 at Wick. All the females died in 1866 in flu epidemic and were buried in Pershore, address then given as Head Street Pershore. Other Heaths also lived in this street but relationship is unknown. It is likely that Joseph and Mary who were neighbours in Great Comberton were parents of William.

I am looking for any information on my GGGrandfather's family. His name was Thomas Allen Fisher, he was born on July 26, 1854 and was christened on August 20, 1854 at the Parish Church of Hampton. His parents were William and Sarah Fisher, I believe he had five brothers the only names I have been able to come up with are William and Arthur (which could be Henry Arthur). I am mostly interested in Thomas Allen's parents and their ancestors. I know William was an only child and at one time his parents were "gentlemen farmers", he died approximately 1905. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There was a William Hinton born in Hanley William in 1653 that I consider may be my ancestor. My ancestor William moved to Maryland in 1682, but I know virtually nothing about him. He sailed from Bristol, and his oldest son was named John. Since the father of the William from Hanley William was named John, I consider this William to be a likely ancestor. Francis and Mary Rollins were married in 1835, with Francis being christened in Tibberton in 1796, son of Richard and Sarah. Children included George (c1852), Lucy (c1856), Charles (c1846 but died aged 9 yrs in 1854) ,Jane, Sarah and Ann, but there may have been others. George married Ellen Millington from Darlaston, date as yet unknown and had Mary ( 1876), Matthew, Sarah Ellen, andthen moved to Chaddesley Corbett, and Harriet, Isobella, Levi and Charles followed. Later family arrived in Bromsgrove and the Redditch area. If anyone has any details of the marriage date and place for George and Ellen, I would be very pleased to hear from you.
