red mail William Aston (1823-1900)
One of my ancestors was William Aston (1823-1900) born in Oldbury. He married Elizabeth Howl in 1858 at Oldbury Parish Church and the certificate gives his father's name as Thomas, a charter master. The certificate also shows that William was a widower when he married Elizabeth. I have not been able to identify who William's first wife was or a marriage. The 1861 Census shows William's oldest child, Elizabeth, born in 1846 so the 1st marriage may have been around 1840-1845. Any help would be appreciated.
