Looking for origin of or connection to gg-grandfather, David Hudson, and gg-grandmother, Elizabeth Skidmore. He came from Northfield (and may have born there), Worcestershire. Born in 1803; married in St Thomas, Dudley,1826 to Elizabeth Skidmore, born 1805, dau of Sarah (and possibly Thomas) Skidmore of Netherton. Sarah's first husband was a Dowler. Her maiden name may have been Mason. In 1855, David, Elizabeth and 3 of their children (William, Emma, Mary Ann) sailed to Nova Scotia, Canada. David was a miner. His brief obit in 1883 said he started working at the age of 7. Does any of this sound familiar??

Joseph Grigg, who was born in Northfield c1862, was the grandfather of one of my mother's cousins and at the time of the 1871 was in the Kings Norton Workhouse as his father had died in 1865. His mother, Eliza nee Hughes, was to re-marry and at the time of the 1881 Census Joseph was living with mother and his stepfather, John Thacker. Joseph, who married Emma Dermody, died in 1888. Four years after his death Joseph's widow, Emma, married John Keeley. Emma had twin daughters by Joseph (Lilian and Cecilia) as well as a family by John. Any information on the famalies would be welcome.

In the house lived her mother Annie nee Hall, her sister Lizzie, brother in law Joseph Hill and their 2 children Thelma and Ken. Beattie died at Heath Road South at the aged of 81 in 1983 with her niece Thelma and great niece Sheila who were with her
