red mail Rose Annie Davies b abt 1864
Rose Annie Davies married Karl Henrick Petersen (a Danish Seaman) Aug 28 1892 in Cardiff. She was 28 he was 29. Her Residence is Mathon, Worcestershire. Her father is George Davies, a Farmer. I know they had a son called Olave who was brought up by his Aunty from a young age following the death of his father. I can't find anything on Rose Annie either before of after her marriage to Karl. I don't know if she died or remarried or where the family was before her marriage. She may have had a sister called Eliza. Any help very much appriciated!
red mail Turner family
My grandfather, George Thomas Turner, was born in Mathon in 1896, and lived, by the time of the 1901 census, at a farm cottage (?no. 1) at South Hyde Farm. His family - also living there - were: father William (bricklayer's labourer), mother Mary (worked on farm as agricultural labourer), brother James (waggoner's boy (sic)), sisters Florence and Elizabeth, and brothers George and Victor. Any ideas gratefully received. Also - any thoughts on what life as an agricultural labourer was like at that time?
Are shown as living at Free Paddock, Mathon in the 1881 census, William, Elizabeth, Clive, Ann, William, Sarah and Jessica. William is shown as being a Butcher. Any information as to location of property or shop plus length of time living there would be appreciated.
