In the 1851 Census his place of birth says 'Isobridge" Wiltshire but I feel 100% that it should read Trowbridge. I want to find his parents and have been trying since 2012 with no positive outcome. Have you run across a Jennyfred (or Jennifred) Carpenter born in Trowbridge or thereabouts about 1825? Father was Joseph Carpenter, who as a shoemaker in Bathwick, Somerset prior to his death. All census indicates she was born Trowbridge, but not on IGI. Mother may have been a Sarah Marchand or Merchant. Name given as Jane in 1851 census, but she may or may not have been the one filling it out.

My grandfather is Henry (AKA: Harry) Trowbridge born in 1876, in Newfoundlad, Canada. I've been told that his father was one of three brothers who came to Canada from England. The three brothers were Samuel, Thomas and John. Judging from my grandfathers birth date, I would assume these three brothers were born between 1840-1860. My Grandmother, Ruth Elizabeth Hedges (1871-1949) was the daughter of John William Hedges(1847-1928) and Mary Stevens (1846-1896). Ruth had a sister, Sarah, who married, I believe, Arthur Bailey, and in the 1901 Census they are recorded as having "Adopted" William Samuel Young, aged 9. Does anyone know what happened to him? Was he the son born to Ruth and Samuel in 1892? I am desperate for photographs of the young Hedges family, particularly Ruth. Any help would be most gratefully received.

First one found was Thomas. He married a Betty COUZENS and later an Ann LINDSEY. Reuben, Thomas's son married Elizabeth SUMMERS (on some censuses from Trowbridge, on another Hilperton). Their son George married Ann DAINTON while widowed Elizabeth married Ann's father James. Elizabeth and Reuben's daughter Ann married John ROBBINS and John and at least 2 of the sons have been traced to Woonsocket, Providence, Rhode Island. Does anybody recognize any of these families?

Can anyone help with info on the listed families. The Ledbury family Albert and Lillian owned a garage in town between 1920-1939, where they sold cars and serviced them, even on a Sunday. The garage was so big that it was also used for car parking. Albert Bodman had a bicycle shop, he was born in Keevil. Albert Ledbury married Elizabeth Fanny Hancock in 1894 and died 28 days after giving birth to Lillian in 1895. In 1896 Albert Ledbury married Mary Edith Morris, a grocer from Mortimer Street.

His parents were John Carpenter from Hilperton born c 1813 adn Elizabeth Webley (Webbley) born c 1814. The KENDALL family came to Trowbridge via Bradford on Avon and Chippenham in the 1770's. They were mostly wool spinners. The family lived in the town until the 1870's when my branch of the family left for Gloucestershire; John Kendall b.1842 and his wife Martha Fillis b.1836, children,Jane Fillis, John William, Arthur, Martha Louisa, Willie and Nelson. John had plenty of brothers and sisters so if any Kendall connections are out there contact me.

I have a listing for the marriage of Charles Huntley to Emma Walker on March 16,1845 at the above mentioned church. Father of groom was Edwin Huntley, father of bride was William Walker. Charles occupation was labourer and he was of "full age" at time of marriage. Emma was a wool feeder and was listed as 20 years of age.
