red mail Wright/Hawkins - 1750's
My ancestor Jonathan Wright (who later moved to Salisbury) was baptised in 1786 in Swallowcliffe: parents Philip and Rachel Wright. They also had two daughters: Jane baptised 1782 and Mary 1779. Philip Wright married Rachel Hawkins in 1779, but I have not found any record of either of their baptisms. Can anybody help?? There appears to be at least one Wright family in the village who were tanners, but I have not found any connection to the names Philip or Jonathan.
