Looking for any info on John Smith born in Ramsbury or Little Bedwyn (Bedwin) abt 1846, his father was also John Smith. Johns first wife was Sarah Winkworth he had two children with her Herbert Baldwin Smith and Amelia Baldwin Smith. He was widowed and re married to Lucy Osman and they had twins Alice Sidiona Stothert Smith and Hugh David Stothert Smith, where the Stothert came from is a mystery! John ended up living in Depford London around 1901 with his son Herbert.

Looking for Lucy Ann Stevens, dau of Charles Edwin Stevens. Can't find her on any census before 1881. Acc to 1881, 1891 & 1901 census she then lived in Kent but was born in Ramsbury, Wilts in 1852. Married name is Kenton. She looks as if she could be South American in the photo I have. Can't find Charles Edwin on ANY census, but, acc to his daughter's marriage certificate, (1878) he was a farmer in Thanet Kent.

James Jarvis born 1784 in Ramsbury married to Ann? James was my Gt.Gt.Gt.Grandfather. Both appear on the 1841 census living in Romsey Hants. Occupation 'Hatter'. I have records of five of their children. Their grandson? Charles Jarvis (my Gt. Grandfather) was brought up by their eldest daughter Phoebe from the age of 1 year and his marriage certificate records his father as her husband Alfred Floyd. His baptism in Romsey records his mother as Mary Jarvis. Was she another relative? Charles Jarvis used the name Charles Coulstone Jarvis on his marriage certificate and was obviously illegitimate. Can anyone help.

Researching this family has taken me the length of England, and people say no one moved about much. Have marriage ties of Wm. Minall who moves to and marry's Amelia Boyling in Portsea, Hants 1840. Elizabeth b1823 marry's Thomas Crisp - Ramsbury 1845; Charlotte b1820 marry's Wm. Eatwell - Ramsbury 1839; Edward b1826 - Ramsbury, married unknown; and lastly Henry b1826 marry's Ann Berriman - Ramsbury 1851. Their parents were John Minal/Minall/Minnell and Martha Purdy m1817.

My husband's great great grandfather,John Bayman was born at Newtown Hants in 1781. His father, another John Bayman,died there in 1825 but I don't know where he was born. Ramsbury seems a likely place but there are several possibles on the I G I, his wife's name was Sarah but I don't know where they were married.I wondered whether anyone has any information about this line of Baymans, they had about 9 children while at Newtown, Catherine, John,Ann,Sarah,James,Robert, Maria, Elizabeth and Mary. Mary b.1795 married John Bright. Sarah b.1784 married James Richardson.

Looking for information on the P.O.W camp that was in the village during the second world war as my grandfather was a civilian worker there, my father says that my grandfather owes his life to a German prisoner of war who saved him from choking so if anybody has anything on this place photos or info please get in touch. I am looking for relatives of my great grandmother Jane Luke. She was born in Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England on February 17, 1852 and immigrated to Canada around 1870. The only other relative I have to her is an Anne Caroline Luke whom I believe was her sister.
Earliest record is for Henry Bayman/Pythouse and his dau. Alice who had copy hold of a farm at Axford in 1533...then all Bayman/Pithouses found so far lived at Ramsbury until the last left in late 1890s...most went north to Lancaster area.
