red mail NEALE of Burbage.
I am descended from the NEALE family first recorded in the Burbage Church Registers in 1626. They appear to have all left the village by the late 1800's, but were very numerous in the intervening years. Three brothers - Hugh, Phillip and John NEALE settled in Burbage shortly before 1626. My branch left Burbage to settle at Church Farm. Wootton Rivers in the mid 1700's. I have extensive information on the NEALE's both of Burbage and Wootton Rivers.
red mail Hopkins
I would like to learn more about various families living in Burbage in the 16th and 17th centuries. Several of my direct ancestors lived in Burbage during this period.
red mail Pye family
I am trying to establish a link between my Pyes of Rayleigh, Essex and the Pyes of Burbage and surrounding area. I have hit a brick wall trying to evidence the birth of my gggrandfather Charles Pye in 1801. All the censuses give his birthplace as Rayleigh but I can't validate this. There is a mention on one of the censuses for a Pye in Fisherton Anger with a visiting granddaughter from Rayleigh. There was a Charles Pye born in Wiltshire in 1801 and his father was Daniel which would tie up with one of the witnesses on Charles's marriage certificate in 1820. Any help/information appreciated.
red mail Goddard
I'm looking for information on Charles Goddard, born 1818 in Burbage, Wilts. His profession is listed in the 1851 census as shoemaker. He married Susan King, who was born in Pewsey about 1811.
