red mail Blake family 1600's
Searching for a marriage for William Blake about 1618. I know that William his wife Em and 3 of their children died of the plague in 1636. Only 2 daughters survived. Unfortunately I have no access to the parish marriage records and would like to confirm if the couple married in Broad Hinton and if any other family members married there around that time. If any one is able to look up these records I would be most grateful.
Looking for a CARPENTER family in Broad Hinton or nearby Winterbourne! My 3xgt.grandfather was HENRY CARPENTER, born c.1821-25 in either of these two nearby villages. Henry claimed his father was a RICHARD CARPENTER on his marriage certificate to MARY ANN PRICE in 1845 at the Baptist chapel in Ross-on-wye,Herefordshire, but suspect he was actually the illegitimate son of a MARY CARPENTER (b.1798) of Broad Hinton, who in turn was the illegitimate daughter of a MARTHA CARPENTER. Martha also had four other illegitimate children, JOSEPH(1798)the twin brother of Mary, JOHN (b.1785), another JOSEPH (b.1788 who died in infancy) and JOB (b.1802).Henry moved to Herefordshire from Wiltshire when young(he was an Ag. Lab) and married at 22 to Mary Ann Price, then after she died in childbirth, possibly her sister (? )Elizabeth Price. He settled in Weston-under-Penyard in Herefordshire and went on to have a huge family( fifteen children between the two wives, though not all of them survived)! Help !!
