Hi there all, I am looking for information about the John Robinson family of Natland. John and his wife Mary (nee Berry) had two sons that I know about: James born December 1814 and William born April 1817. James and his wife Ann (nee Robinson immigrated to New Zealand in 1865 with their children Margaret, Sarah Jane and Jessie. Their older daughter Agnes also immigrated at the same time with her husband William Blair and young son Thomas. I am a descendent of James through his daughter Sarah Jane. Ravenstonedale DNA Project - (Ravenstonedale - Westmorland)
If you have ancestors dating back to Ravenstonedale BEFORE 1750, you may be interested in finding out more about this project (set up in 2012), particularly if you have taken a yDNA or autosomal DNA test and would be willing to add your results to our database. At present, we have yDNA results for the following surnames in the database: ADAMTHWAITE, FAWCETT, SWINBANK , FOTHERGILL and autosomal DNA results from descendants s of a number of the old Ravenstonedale families. Eventually I hope to include all the most commonly found surnames in the parish in the period 1570 - 1700 Eventually, I hope to discover whether there is any shared genetic ancestry between the oldest Ravenstonedale families.
