I am looking for information on Parkin Cowperthwaite (b1752, Kirkby Stephen), Eleanor Cowperthwaite (nee Railton, b 1767, Kirkby Stephen) and their families. I am researching the WALKER / TUNSTALL families and, in particular, I am trying to trace the ancestors (anddetails) of a Mary WALKER (b. 1776; d. 1851) who was the daughter of a local clergyman. In or around 1805, she married a Thomas TUNSTALL, possibly of THURLAND and son of a farmer near HEAD OF TEES (W Yorks). Thomas in fact claimed the arms as a descendant of Sir Brian TUNSTALL although their is no proof that his cliam was founded.
