Sorry for wrong info (Ellen Joy from Waterford Ireland)I have found her married name was Ellenor Baker from England,she married Benjamin Baker from Nova Scotia Canada ,both lived in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She died in 1862 of cholera,Benjamin died 1867 accidental drowning in Philadelphia.They had a son John Baker around 1860.After Ellens death Benjamin married Anna(Annie)Barry from Canada they had a two children Richard Joy Baker and Catherine Adelia Baker.After Benjamins death Annie married Joseph Shead from Middlesex England they had two children Thomas Edward Shead and Joseph William Shead.I dont know when they all got to England ,but in 1879 they left England for New Zealand on the Stad Haarlem. Thomas only 11 died in NZ.1882.A few years later they all moved to Melbourne Australia except for John who went back to the states,I think he spent his final years in L.A.I am still looking for Ellen's maiden name. Looking to get more information on: 1) Dennis Sullivan/O'Sullivan (b. abt. 1817 Kilgobnet, Waterford) He was a miner and his parents may have been Dennis and Mary??? He relocated in USA, married abt. 1844 in New York state and move to Richmond, Massachusetts with his wife--Mary McDonnell from Castlelyons Co Cork. Dennis is buried in St. Joseph's cemetery, Pittsfield, MA.

James Sheehan b. circa 1823 married Ellen Flynn b. circa 1829, they had a child, Thomas F. Sheehan b. Mar 02, 1848 in Waterford (not sure if that was City or County). James and Ellen immigrated to the USA, arriving on Dec 18, 1849, leaving their child in Ireland. They departed from Liverpool and arrived in New Orleans, and settled in Springfield, Illinois. Thomas moved to his parents' at age 19,arriving in New York on 8 Oct 1867. Thomas would marry Bridget Tobin May 25, 1875.
JOHN COLLINS b. circa 1854 married Nora (Honora) mansfield b. circa 1879 , in 1898. They lived in Kinsalebeg (not far from Youghal Co Cork) but they were in C0 Waterford Parish. Children were: Patrick b.1899, Bridget b. 1900, Joseph born 1904. Maurice b 1905 & Alice b 1916 (twin).dI have details on Joseph & Patrick, Maurice is said to have died in 2nd World War in army. I am reseaching family links to the name of ALFRED LEAR brn abt. 1873 Waterford. I have very little information about his early years but have documentation (cenus 1891) that indicates that he was in the army as a Private with the East Kent Regiment at Canterbury Barracks Kent. 1895 serving with the 1st Battalion The Buffs (in India 1895). He was my great great grandfather born about 1832 in county Waterford Ireland His fathers name was Corneilus O' Brien, Timothy came to Liverpool England and in the 1851 census was living at 10 carlton street Liverpool and working as a tailor. He met the woman he married Mary Ball at this address she was the lodging house keepers daughter they wed in 1853, their family was Thomas Henry 1854 who was My great grandfather John 1861 Timothy 1864 Christopher 1867 Margaret 1870. I am searching for my GG Grandfather and GG Grandmother who were born in Waterford, Ireland in about 1825. Both stated in the 1861 census in Warrington that they were glass workers and worked in the glass trade there. Previously they had lived in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for a while where my great grandmother, Johanna was born in 1853. Are there living relatives of William Flinn (Flynn) out there? He was born 1840 in Waterford and went to Wales before he was 23, as he married a girl from Monmouthshire (Elizabeth Bale)in 1863. They had 10 children, Mary Elizabeth, Edward, William, William (first William died), Amelia, John, Susan, Henyretta, Johanna, Joseph. William died in 1891 and is buried in St Woolos Cemetery, Newport, South Wales. No trace of where his wife is buried, although she only lived 3 years after his death. William was a Stevedore at Newport Docks, and a catholic and is buried in the Catholic section of the cemetery along with 2 of his young sons who predeceased him.

Thomas was born in St John's in 1879. His father, John was a canal man. He had an older brother Patrick and 3 younger brothers, William, James and John. He enlisted in the army in 1899 with a "brother" James Sullivan (not his birth brother) and they served in Malta and India together before being discharged in 1911.
