red mail Curtis/Grimsley
Curtis Newbold on Avon My paternal grandfather Frederick Charles Curtis was born to Alfred Curtis (laborer at cement works) and Mary Elizabeth Curtis (nee Grimsley) on 7 June 1903. Address is Newbold on Avon Road, Newbold on Avon. He married Rose Botfield in Carlisle in Aug 1937 when he was a seargant serving in the Royal Artillery (this is the uniform he is wearing in the wedding photo. His occupation in July 1938 was postman on my dad's birth certificate. My father never met him as we think the relationship broke down before he was born. Rumour has it he was in Catterick at some point. He was still alive in 1953. Information regarding his parents would also be welcome. So far, I have found that they were married in the June quarter of 1888.
