I am researching the Cosden family. In some information it is stated that Alphonso Cosden I, which goes into 5 generations of Alphonso's came from Hillmorton. My 4th. gr. grandfather James Washington Knight born 1809 where? - died 1870 about, in Maryland. One of James son's said his father came from England but that is all I know. Married Sapora (many spellings of her name) Cosden in Maryland 1833. All of the family eventually lived in Maryland. Most all information states they originally may have come from Spain into England then to the US. It is in information the name was Don Alphonso Cos, and changed it around. I am interested in corresponding with anyone who would have information on either family.
