Hi. Searching for parent details of Thomas HEMS of Erdington, who married Elizabeth HINKLEY (HINCKLEY) 22 Oct 1826  Aston, St Peter and St Paul, Warwickshire, England. All info except for 1 census indicates that Thomas was born 1805 in Erdington. 1845 census suggests born in 1796. Census 1851  106 Bromford Wood Lane, Erdington, Warwickshire, England Relationship: Head. Occupation, agricultural labourer. Also in household, Mary TWIST, (B 1801 Erdington) his sister in law, acting as nurse. She is mother of Maria Twist. If anyone has definite info on parents of Thomas that would be mindblowingly good as this one is driving me daft!!!.

Catherine Houlston born 1855 in Erdington was married to William Ernest Houlston. I think they were married circa 1880. In 1881 they were living at 55 Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield, before they had their children Francis Henry (b 30/7/1886) and Joseph (b 1884) I have been unable to track down exactly when & where Catherine & William Ernest were married & what Catherine's maiden name was. Does anyone know of any details of Thomas Farrow, born Erdington, Warwickshire and shown in census 1901, living at 80, New Street, Erdington & 1911, living at 43 or 47 Trafalgar Rd Erdington.He was married to Clara and they had a son, William in 1887. There was a servant in the 1901 census called Rose Simmonds, who witnessed the marriage of William in 1910. In 1911 census, Rose Smith appeared as being adopted, could this be the same Rose Simmonds? Does anyone know of the whereabouts of Thomas Farrow prior to 1901 census? did his name change spelling? was he a Farrer or Farrar? Thomas died in 1926, at 23, Station Road, Erdington. Is he buried at St. Barnabas Church, Church Lane, Erdington. Any information, please help.

Her father was John Henry Ravenscroft believed to have developed or sold a process for using black lead to clean iron grates. She had two sisters, Alice and Frances and three brothers (names unknown) who were all in the Coldstream Guards. Florence married a Joseph Henry Smith in Birmingham in 1899.They lived in Erdington. My grand father, James Jordan Sherman was born at Oscott College Farm, Erdington on July 31st, 1883. The census of 1901 has the family living at Chester Road, Holifast Farm, Erdington. James Sherman had a sister, Margaret Isabella (a.k.a. Maggie)who died in 1885. Brothers: Walter Henry,(married Winnie Thoms), and John Sherman (married Alice Tomlinson).
