Goodwin John 1776-1846
John Goodwin born Dungannon Barony, Tyrone County. He married Catherine Shannon. Children were Francis, Owen John, Mary, James and Rosanna, all born in North Dugannon before emigrating to Prince Edward County, Upper Canada in 1819. He is my 4th Great Grandfather. I'd be very interested in knowing more about this family: ancestors, births, deaths, marriages, ship records etc.
Mc Cann Family.
I am looking for any info on the Mc Cann family living between William Street and Irish St Dungannon about 1878 onwards. My Grandmother was Mary Jane Mc Cann,her parents were John Mc Cann and Jane Mc Bride.Her brother was George Mc Cann born 1879 in Irish st Dungannon.The family moved to Scotland but George remained with his grandfather,John Mc Cann who was a Joiner to trade. Could i please have a bit of information on the Wade family please if any is available as my 4xs great grandparents i have just discovered that they come from Ireland but the only information that i have is that they were married in 1853 in Dungannon,County Tyrone and dont have the name of the church just the place where she was married. Looking for any information on Sarah Mcgleade who married John Quinn, marriage date 13 July 1865 in Dungannon,Tyrone,Ireland they moved to USA had 6 children John,Arthur,Sarah,Esther,Mary,Martha Sarah's father was Patrick Mcgleade I know Sarah was the only child of Patrick. Sarah and John are my maternal family.No other information found for John Quinn. No information on Sarah's mother nor what became of Patrick. Thank for any information on any of the above.

I am looking for a Thomas McSherry, the father of Anne (Annie) Mcsherry (b. in Belfast in 1872 but lived in Dungannon) and son Thomas (b.1874), also lived in Dungannon. The two siblings appear on the 1901 census for Dungannon when Annie McSherry (unmarried) lived with her son, Edward John McSherry b.1900 and her Aunt Jane McSherry was Head of the family) and son Thomas with his own wife and children. There is a Thomas McSherry died 1918 in Dungannon (estimated date of birth1845). I have been unable to find a marriage for him but the mother of his two children, Thomas and Annie, was a Matilda Butler. If anyone can provide any information that links this Thomas McSherry with a Matilda Butler and the two siblings I would be very grateful. Marion

Looking for any information on Joseph BEGGS 1754-1831 from Dungannon. He immigrated to the US and ended settling in Coitsville, Ohio. He may have been on a ship sometime around 1774, but I am definitely not sure. ANY information on Joseph is greatly appreciated!

My GG grandparents Robert Rodgers and Martha McFarland married in the Killeeshil Church of Ireland in January,1857 and then must have left almost immediately to come Victoria, Australia. Robert worked his way up from being a farm labourer then purchased small pieces of land until he owned many hundreds of acres in South Gippsland, Victoria. I have just purchased their marriage certificate and have found out that Robert's father was William, a labourer, and Martha's was John, also a labourer. One of the witnesses was John McFarland. May have been her father or possibly a brother. I am hoping that someone is left in Dungannon also from either the Rodgers family or the McFarland. I would love to find out more about both these families

The CWGC states that John Dunne of the Royal Irish Regiment, killed in October 1914, was the son of Joseph and Rose Dunne of Dungannon. Any info about any of these people? John was stated in the Newcastle upon Tyne Illustrated Chronicle to have been formerly a miner at Fatfield, County Durham and he is on the Fatfield War memorial as J Dunn. There was a photo of him in Civilian clothes.

William was a flax farmer and at one point lived in Moneymore, County Londonderry. Rebecca had a sister Ellen who was born around 1850. John (or Samuel) Douglass married Ann McCartney abt 1777:lived in Tulnagall Townland-Children: John m. Jane Gilkinson resided in Ballymacall,William immigrated to US, Margaret m. Andrew Montgomery,Robert, James both remained at Tulnagall. James sons Moses and John remained at Tulnagall . Johns daughters Nellie and Florence were living in the home in Tulnagall in 1956. I understand that they were teachers. Nellie Douglas was teaching in the area. They had siblings that may have lived in the area also. I would like to meet any relatives living there when I visit April 27th-May 5th 2010.

Patrick's father was called Bernard. No name for his Mother. Sarah had a sister Jane and their father's name was Anthony, again no name for their mother. (All we know is he was born county Tyrone) married Rachael McKitterick (born 1824? ) . married in the Church of Ireland, Dungannon 6/1/1853. His first child Elizabeth was born in Cronkill on the 17/10/1853. Then Thomas, his wife and daughter set sail for Australia aboard the "Phoebe Dunbar" arriving in Moreton Bay on the 5th May 1856.

My gggg grandfather, Patrick Donnelly was born in Dungannon in 1802. He married Margaret Lyons from Cork Co. and emigrated to the US in about 1820. After some misfortune, he moved to Ontario, Canada and had 9 children. I'm afraid after 10 years of searching, that's all I've got. Just throwing a shot in the dark out there from Canada to all my Irish Donnelly cousins I've never met.

Cavenett. We are trying to find the region or place called Cavenett in this area. It was given as a place name in a list of residents of Dungannon locality about 100 years ago. Does it still exist? Bridget, Margaret and James emigrated to the U.S. Nicholas O'Reilly, my grandfather, married Mary McAnulty on 7 Jan 1884 at the Catholic chapel in Dungannon. He lived at Scotch St., Dungannon at the time. In 1901 Nicholas and his family also lived at Ballysaggart Town, Dungannon and by 1911 they had moved to Belfast. My grandfather's birth certificate indicates he was born Robert Coulson, son of John Coulson & Clara Carey 29 Oct 1875 at Terrenew, Dungannon. Apparently John's father was also a John Coulson wed to Mary Struthers.
