Annie Bridget born 1860 - 1864 was the daughter of James Power and possibly Ellen/Elizabeth Comerford. Her parents had a shop near the slate quarry and her brothers worked there. She left Ireland for Australia in 1883 and married in Adelaide in 1888. She had a sister Ellen who went to Victoria to live. Any information welcomed.

I am looking for any information about Patrick HOGAN (b. @1780 in Ireland, best guess, no other records) who emigrated to America in 1800, to O'Fallon Township, Illinois; married Nancy Simpson Best, 1803; was divorced from her in 1823; disappeared from U.S. census records 1825; sired James HOGAN (1821 - 1911); father of Russell HOGAN (1863 - 1948); father of Harvey HOGAN (1909 - 1974); father of Kendall Russell HOGAN (1941 - 2014); who fathered me. We have traced the genealogy as far back as Patrick, but we have not been able to discover anything more, because of the loss of public records during the Easter Rising of 1916. Thank you.

In 1902 They were were in Hardingstone, Northamptonshire, where George was employed as a coachman. I realize Kate (or Catherine) Power is a fairly common name but if anyone can shed light I'd appreciate it. So far I have been unable to trace the marriage which would provide something more than I have regarding her family origins.

Grandparents William and Johanna Morrissey (nee fitzgerald Lived in College St Mantlehil/Golden. children, Catherine Morrissey (my mum), Phyllis, Mae, Jackie, Willie, Margaret and Tommy killed in action 19.9.44 in Italy. Mae married and lived in Australia until 20 years ago when she returned to family home. My mum married Christopher Williams and travelled with the army unit. Willie did not marry and died quite young. Margaret married in London and lived in Manchester with her husband John. Phyllis married William Colgan and returned to family home. Mums cousin Lena or Ellen Fitzgerald had a store in Cashel for a number of years. Trying to find a Raymond and Sheila both born in Golden not sure how related perhaps cousins. Johanna born in Carrick on Suir from I think a trades family of Bakers.

Looking for the ancestors of my GG Grandfather, Patrick Bellane. Patrick was sentenced to death in Tipperary in 1831, for burglary, aged 30 years. Patrick was in Maryborough prison and his sentence was changed to transport to Australia. Patrick was transported to Australia on the ship "Eliza 11". Patrick was eventually pardoned and give his ticket of leave. He married Irish free settler Mary Hawkins who arrived in Australia in 1841. Any information would be appreciated, Brentwood.

Religion: Catholic Other dates mentioned for birth of Michael Cooney born: 1836 or 1837 or 1841 Immigrated to Canada around  in which he should have been in his early 30's 1871. (was widower also mentions he was farmer). Last name has also been spelt as 'Couney'.

My great-great-grandfather was a Michael Sheehy (born circa 1820) and married to Mary Fitzgerald (b1824). I think they married in Ireland but know that Mary died in Glasgow in 1886 and worked as a confectioner. Their son Michael Sheehy (my great grandfather b1851) was a master confectioner and first appears in Glasgow records with his marriage in 1877 to Mary Keenan (b1858). He also had a sister Bridget born 1849 who married a John Quin at Greenock in 1870. Bridget appears to have had a daughter Frances Quin in America in 1874. My grandfather Hugh Sheehy (b1892) talked of cousins in Limerick. Does anyone recognise these names?

About 1835 he had a daughter Johanna Slingsby who on 12 Feb 1855 married Henry Hill in Bristol, England in a Catholic church. By that time Partick was dead. Henry and Johanna Hill had 12 children (9 girls), most of whom prospered and had large families of their own.

I am looking for any information on the Hogan family from Tipperary, Ireland. Specifically the family of Cornelius and Catherine Hogan nee Ryan, who had a daughter called Margaret Hogan (born about 1848 and died 1884). Cornelius Hogan was listed as being a boot maker in Tipperary, Ireland on Margaret's marriage certificate to John O'Donnell. Margaret Hogan emigrated to Australia (year unknown) and later married a John O'Donnell. She reside in the Ballarat and Colac areas in Victoria. Margaret had a number of children to John including Malachy, John, Martin Patrick, Martin Francis, Bridget, Cornelius William, Cornelius Martin Catherine and Margaret. Might anyone have any info on brothers Thomas and Cornelius Ryan? Thomas was b. abt. 1820, ended up in Pittsburgh, Pa., USA area and in 1856 was ordained as a Catholic Priest, then served in Altoona, and Gallitzin, Pa., USA, died in 1883 and is buried in Gallitzin, Pa., USA. Also listed with Thomas in a 1870 US Census were a Mary Corle, age 26 and Thomas Boiles, age 45, both to have been born in Ireland. Unknown if any relation? Cornelius was b. abt 1826 and ended up in Indiana County, Pa., USA. Cornelius married an Elvira Shrum, had 4 children and worked for the railroad. Cornelius died in Greensburg, Pa., USA in 1898. The family story goes that they were from Tipperary and Cornelius was a stowaway on a ship coming to the USA. This story really has not been proven! Thank you,

I realise this may be impossible to solve...but i am after anyone who has the name Denis Dwyer in their family to see if we have a connection.I am hoping he comes up in someones family as a sibling or cousin . Denis was born Tipperary,town unknown in either 1841 or 1848 to unknown Dwyer a farmer. Denis emigrated to Australia but i have no idea when...thats the hard part as i cant get any other information to help me trace his family back in Ireland. So it is essential initially to take steps to find out which township or village in that county that they hailed from as 'Tipperary' is too general a term and given the proliferation of Irish surnames an almost impossible task to trace a particular person.

Mary, born early 1800's was my Great grand mother. Mary married Sgt Thomas Litchfield, of the 51st Regiment at the parish church of Ballysax in Count Kildare on the 26th September 1856. The witnesses were Mary McDonnall and John Conway **** The church is located close to the Curragh Camp. Mary gave birth to a daughter, Henrietta, on the 24th November 1858 at South Barracks Walmer Kent England, Thomas Litchfield father. The birth certificate clearly states Mary's maiden name to be Pearce and her home was in Tipperary. Sgt Litchfield died in India . My GGF , a comrade in arms met and married Mary in Lahore. GGF, Mary and Henrietta eventually returned to England and on the 10th May 1866, at the Armory Barracks, Cirencester, Gloucestershire England, Mary gave birth to a son Robert - my grand father - , the father was Staff Sergeant Robert Owen my Great Grand Father. Mary is now firmly centered in England, therefore would you now look at the Village of Warwick in Warwickshire and the Heading is Robert / Mary Owen. This will provide more details of Mary's family and my interest for more information of my Irish decendant's.

I'm looking for any reference to any Tubberdy's in Tipperary. My husband's gt gt grandfather came over to England before 1856 (when he married Hannah Brian in London). The 1881 census shows that he and his wife were born in Tipperary around 1830. We have visited Ireland to try and find out more and found census records for 1901 and 1911 that show Tubberdy's living in Cashel and Golden. Anyone have any information?

I am trying to trace John Joseph Clancy who was born in 1921. He came from County Tipperary and married Edna Holmes in 1943 at Nottingham Registar Office. They moved to Melton Mowbrey where they had three children; Maureen, Brian and Dennis who were born in 1943, 1946 and 1948. In 1948 they moved to Grassmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. In that same year he left Grassmoor to go and work on building sites around England and that was the last time he was heard of. It is believed that he went back to Ireland. He was also known as Jack Clancy.

Winifred Mary Murphy was born 15 July 1886. She was the daughter of Michael Murphy. She had a sister Margaret. On the 18th of November 1901 she was married to William Ryan a british soldier who was the son of Alexander Ryan. They were married at the Chapel at St. Michael's Tipperary Ireland. Witnesses were Alfred Tye and her sister Margaret (Maggie). Winifred and William moved to London. Her sister Margaret also married a man named Ryan and moved to England. Winifred's obituary names as a cousin Daniel Breen. After World War II Winifred returned to Tipperary for a visit with two of her grandchildren. She returned London and died in the 1960's. Would love to know if there is anyone else researching this line.

My Great, Great Grandparents were John Shortt (1793-1847) and Mary Anne Fitzgerald (1796-1873). Their son, also named John Shortt, was born in County Tipperary in 1830. On 3 Sep 1862, John (junior) married Harriet Anne Burriss at Saint Mary, Edge Hill, in Lancashire, England. John & Harriet immigrated to New Zealand on the ship Belgravia, arriving in Auckland on 10 May 1865. Harriet died on 6 Jan 1866, aged 22. John re-married, to Maria Blackmore and settled at Mangere Bridge, Auckland, NZ. I am interested to learn any family history details, in particular, ancestors of John Shortt (senior), who was the eldest son of John Shortt (known as "John the Elder"), of Pallas/Pallice. Also, any details regarding the ancestors of Mary Anne Fitzgerald, who was the daughter of Edward Fitzgerald, of Coolmore, Laois, Ireland.
