Looking for information on the following: John Munro who married Mary Gunn 16 May 1822. Mary died in 1883, a widow, aged 88 years. Her parents were Finlay Gunn and Christina MacIntosh. John and Mary had they following children: Isbel born 1823, Christy born 1824, Christy born 1825, Anne born 1827, Finlay born 1829, Mary born 1831 and George born 1833.

Im looking for details on Johannah Weatherley born abt 1846 in Bonar Bridge.I have her marriage certificate that says her father was John Weatherley a seaman.The only John Weatherley I can find is living far away in Edinburgh on the 1851 census with a wife Isabella and son Alexander 16 ,no sign of Johannah ,but it does say he was a seaman ,so Im not sure if he is the right man or not.I only know Johannah was born in Bonar Bridge ,because its stated on a later census form.If any one his information or are also reasearching this family please connect me

William Ross (b1828 Spinningdale, died 1910 Daylesford, Aust), son of Robert Ross (abt 1801 to ?) and Ann Murray (abt 1803 -1880) had siblings Catherine, Robert, Christy, Alexander and George. He married Henrietta (Henny) Ross (b 1831 Creich, died 1918 Daylesford, Aust), daughter of Hugh Ross and Elspeth Munro in 1856 in Airdins. Henrietta's eldest sister Elspet (1822 -1894) married Hugh Munro. She died in Airdins and is buried with Hugh in the Creich/Bonar Bridge Cemetery. Henrietta & William and Henrietta's brothers Donald, William, John and Angus emigrated to Australia during the 1850's.

Any info please on ANDREW McKAY Born either Tain or Dornoch 1811 but living in West Clyne in 1840 when his daughter JANET was born. He was married to CATHERINE born 1816 in Dornoch (was she a Sutherland?). On the 1841 Census Andrew was a fisherman living in Fishertown, Brora. They had children: Annie b1834; William b1837(agric.labourer) Margaret b 1839; JANET b1840 (my g-grandmother); Catherine b1846; Eppy (?) b1849 and Donald b1851 (another fisherman). The children later than Janet were born in Tain. I have come to a brick wall with ANDREW but would love to know more.

I believe Adam Mckenzie came from Helmsdale this was shown on my grandfathers birth cerificate I got from New Zealand .Adams father was Alexander Mckenzie and his mother Jane Mckay Gordon .Adam married Isabella Watson from Pitsligo 1875 and they emigrated to New Zealand in 1877 can anyone help .

My Gt Paternal Grandmother was born 9 Feb 1856 at Embo Mains Dornock Sutherland to Andrew & Mary Grant She married Joseph Burton in South Leith 17 Aug 1881 Joseph was a Pvt in 21st Hussars, sent to India for the wars & never heard from again. I have census report that Andrew & Mary owned acreage and had hired help at Embo Mains where Andrew was listed as Plowman Any additional information greatly appreciated

I believe Alexander Mcleod was born in Lochinver, Sutherland in the early 1800's. He migrated to Australia where he married Sarah Jane McGennis on 1/2/1841. Any information on Alexander or Sarah or the history of the area at the time and why they may have immigrated would be appreciated. Trying to trace the footsteps of Walter Murray, who emigrated from Sutherlandshire, Scotland aboard the ship "Hector"; and who landed at Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1773, with his wife Christian and a 2 year old daughter Elizabeth. It is believed Walter was born in Rogart or surrounding area Abt. 1735 and served in India as a soldier sometime between 1760/70.

The Tongue registers do not go back much before 1800, but my gt gt grandfather Angus SUTHERLAND was born apparently c 1791, and lived all his traced life in Scullomie. His family spread to Blandy, and wives in at least two generations were MacKays. The area was the old MacKay Clan Territory, and Sutherland was the next most common name. My grandfather, Charles Hugh Munro Gordon youngest child of John Gordon and Elizabeth (Betsyann) Munro born in Helmsdale 1866. Other siblings are James b. Feb 19 1870 d. 1872, Jessie d. 1853, John b.Aug.25 1855, Alexander b. Sept 17 1859, Marion b. Apr. 22 1862. I'm hoping that some of their decendants still live in the area Marion left and lived in England. My grandfather left Scotland in 1882 and was employed by the Hudsons Bay Co. and I don't think he ever returned. He died in Canada in 1936. I hope someone out there can fill in the empty spots Louise
