Need help and ancestry of the following-- Janet McKAY 1792-1863; she died in Rhinie. Her parents were David McKAY 1772 Dalmanain, married 1781 at Dornoch to Marran McIntosh 1772. THese McKAY's lived in the same time frame and geographical area that David O. McKAY was born and he was prophet of the Mormon Church....I know these lines hook up but need more McKAY data to figure it out. Is there a McKAY ancestry out there that can help me? What about the McINTOSH line?

red mail Dornoch, Sutherlandshire
Alexander Murray (ca1800-1871), carpenter, born Dornoch, Sutherlandshire, Scotland, married at Loth 1828, Ellen Bannerman (1797-1871) born Helmsdale, Sutherlandshire. Children: Robert (1829-1916) (my ancestor); James (1831-1879); William (ca1834- );Catherine (Stephens) (1837-1865); Elizabeth (Marks) (ca1840-); John (ca1845-). Emigrated to Canada ca1830, settled near Beeton, Simcoe County, Ontario. MurrayÕs brother went to Australia ca1840-50s, and became wealthy with gold. My mother, Catherine Murray, told me that this man had a gold watch with the alphabet letters of his name replacing the numbers of the hours on the face of the watch He and members of his family were drowned in the wreck of the Royal Charter in October 1859. In theMcKee book (1961), there is brief mention of the Murray family: ÒMiss Murray had fainted and anxious relatives had taken her to her cabinÓ. I am wondering where this information came from? Is there a passenger list available? I would appreciate having any information available about this family. Thanks
