Clara Miniken & Bertha Miniken
I would love to know more about these two spinster sisters who lived in Worthing from the mid 1870s until their deaths. Clara was born in 1845 and Bertha in 1849, both in London. Clara died on 4 February 1919 and Bertha on 28 February 1928. Their address in Worthing was 28 Teville Road, sometimes referred to as "Springfield Lodge". Although neither married, Bertha was apparently engaged at one time, but her fiance died. This would probably have been around 1900. They were apparently associated with a church in Worthing (Bertha donated some silver in memory of her fiance) but which one? Any information about these two ladies and their lives in Worthing would be very gratefully received.

I have recently found that my grandmothers cousin above born 1901 in Ireland but lived until her teenage years in Barking Essex. She then moved to Worthing with her parents, remaining a spinster and died and was buried there in 1973. I am writing a book on the Quash family in Barking, Essex and would like to include her, especially as I have photos of her and my grandmother when they were young, but I have no knowledge of her life there apart from the fact that she is remembered by the Guild of All Souls yearly. I have tried the local churches but she is unknown. Any information would be very much appreciated.

After his return from Canada in 1944 or '45 he spent time in Sheffield, but he left there in 1947 and his parents never heard from him again. Trying to find information about the following people: George FELTHAM occupation: gardener and his wife Catherine Charlotte nee SIBLEY appear on the 1911 census at East Preston with son Ronald George. Ronald married Sep quarter 1935 Phyllis M Porter or Porteus. Although Catherine states she has been married 7 years on the 1911 census, there is no trace of a marriage until 31st March 1917. Why was this and why did she give her father as being Charles Sibley deceased when her father was called John Sibley and was still alive in 1917? Catherine was my Grandma's sister.

In the 1911 census George snr,jnr and Minnie were living at 59 Montague street Worthing.George snr was a barber and his wife was a boot dealer.Any relatives of the above out there?Let me know.

I am looking for info on my great-uncle,James Edward Lothian Wood born in Dunbar, Scotland in 1888. He was an accountant for Massey Harris and travelled globally for them. He was married four times - May, May, Beatrice and Beryl Cynthia. I know Jim and Beryl were married before 1962 as they visited family Canada that year. In summer they lived at 14 West Parade, Worthing and after retirement they went to Cape Town, South Africa for the winter to golf. Jim died on 12 December 1973 in Worthing (so we thought) and Beryl died 13 March 1978 in Worthing. According to Beryl's will her executor was Mrs. Mary Brenda Tunnell. Her relationship to the Wood's is unknown. We do not know if Beryl was previously married but is thought she was childless. Recently the GRO UK was unable to find a death certificate for Jim so am wondering if he died in Cape Town. I would be interested in receiving any information on either including cemetery/burial location.

William Henry REEDS b. 1840 in Worthing or Broadwater was my 2 x great grandfather. He married Sophia Rebecca BROAD in Bethnall Green in 1860. Shortly after 3 children were born/baptised in Gravesend, Kent. The family had moved to Southwark by 1871 and Deptford & Rotherhithe in later years. I have managed to research the BROAD line but the REEDS line eludes me. William Henry says his father's name was also William on his marriage certificate but apart from this I am stuck!
