red mail Ann Standen m. Thomas Pettet on July 19, 1655
My 8 great grandmother Ann married Thomas Pettet on July 19, 1655, in Ticehurst, Sussex, England. FHL Film Number: 892355. They had six known children, including a couple of children named Thomas (Thomas 1 died infancy in 1656 and their other son Thomas was the youngest child 1674-1768 and was my 7g grandparent). Thomas younger baptism same FHL Film Number: 892355 parents listed Thomas and Ann (presuming its Ann Standrn again as no record of Thomas getting remarried). Am struggling with Ann Standen though- there was one born in 1635 in Ticehurst, Sussex, England, the daughter of Elizabeth Harman or Harms and Robert Standen, and would assume thats her though shes recorded as Anne, and the Ann who married Thomas doesnt give the name Robert to any of her children. Robert and Elizabeth also dont seem to have any other children. Am aware that once you get back to the early 1600s records are not great; just hoping that theres something there that Im missing that gives more credence to Elizabeth and Robert.
red mail Thomas Pettet 16741768 Married with Elizabeth parents were Thomas and Ann.
Hi there, any help with this would be appreciated. Thomas was baptised in Ticehurst in the Weald area, Sussex, 1674. His parents are listed as Thomas and Ann. A Thomas Pettet later turns up in Hawkhurst, Kent, England having children with an Elizabeth. These children are all between the dates 1706 and 1721 although unsure about the youngest one as that would make him rather old. His son Joseph 17101773 married a Margaret King and had children Thomas (my ancestor, who had multiole illegitimate children in Wadhurst and Lamberhurst with three women even whilst married), Elizabeth and lastly Margaret. Thomas Pettet 16741768 also had a son Daniel, the brother of Joseph listed above. Daniel Pettet 17151786 has the children Thomas, Mary, Samuel, Elizabeth, Susannah, Sarah, Daniel and Hannah. Any help with the original Thomas 16741768 would honestly be much appreciated. A person with that name did marry an Elizabeth Fairway on August 30, 1705 although that was very distant to Ticehurst and thus seems unlikely- also not sure who his parents are other than knowing his father was also Thomas and mother is listed as Ann (although sometimes the mothers names did get listed incorrectly in the early transcripts). Thankyou!

red mail Kemp aka Ellick of Ticehurst, Sussex
I am seeking assistance with finding the birth of Alice Ellick born circa 1868, who I believe was probably born Alice kemp in Ticehurst, Sussex. There is no marriage for this Alice Kemp, but following her through the censuses, she appears with the Kemp surname up to 1881 in Ticehurst, then in Great Crosby in Lancashire in 1891 and finally under the Ellick surname in Wavertree in Liverpool in the 1901 and 1911 censuses with her son Charles born 1895. No father mentioned on Charles' birth cert, but he names his father as Frederick Ellick on his own marriage cert in 1917. Any help with Alice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Pam

red mail Winch in Ticehurst
Hi, I have managed to push my paternal tree back to just before the Spanish Armada; I have had difficulty in going back any further, and in spreading it wide enough to catch relatives off the direct line. They all basically came from the small triangle Ticehurst(Sussex)/Cranbrook/Hawkhurst (Kent). What I have so far is: - Henry Winch; b. 1822. Cranbrook, Kent. Married Ellen Georgiana Green 1851. Son of Richard Winch; b. 1792. Cranbrook, Kent. Married Mary Graham Wilson Evett 1817. Son of Benjamin Winch; b. 1763. Married Ann Wood 1789. Son of Richard Winch; b. 1730; Ticehurst, Kent. Married Ann Campany 1756. Son of Richard Winch; b. 1665. Ticehurst, Kent. Married Mary Plumme 1701 and Mary Valance 1725 Son of Thomas Winch; b. 1625. Ticehurst, Kent. Married Ann Hayward 1664 Son of Thomas Winch; b. 1598. Married Elizabeth Yonge 1623 Son of Daniel Winch; b. 1580. Ticehurst, Kent I can obviously take it from Henry (1822) down to the current day and would happily match trees with anybody who the above rings a bell with. Look forward to hearing from anybody. David
