Any information please ref Thos. Marchant b. abt 1802 at Newick married Ann Mitchell b. abt 1797 at E. Grinstead. Thos subsequentlyt worked at Southfield brick yard T.Wells and died 1877 as an inmate of Tonbridge workhouse Pembury. Particularly interested to find his predecessors.

George was a convict transported to tasnai in 1841 for 15 years for horse stealing. His birthdates range from 1816 to 1826 depending on what record is read. His birthplace ranges from newick or Brighton. According to records he had a mother at birthplace? and 6 siblings, Thomas and William (railway workers) and John (a sweep). and sisters 3, two of whom were married catherine and Ann. I know I am drawing a long bow but if his siblings etc., can be identified this would be greatly appreciated.

James Coley Born 1828 possibly Newick. James was convicted for housebreaking Lewes 13th Dec 1839 he was 13yrs. He was sent to Parkhurst Prison then tranported to N Z. Any info. on the Coley's of Newick would be a help.

James WICKS (1781 - 1857) married Sarah MANNERS (1781 - 1854) at Newick on the 19th October 1803. They had Elizabeth, James, Henry, Thomas, Edward and Ellen baptised at Newick before moving off to Hamsey, East Chiltington, and Lewes St. John's (subcastro). Any contact?
