Can any one please advise if there is any family living in Midhurst with the name sur name Kitchener.I am seraching for relatives of Reginald Kitchener who lost his life on HMS Hood when it sank in 1941 I believe he was just 19 his name and photo are on the HMS Hood association site.My uncle was his friend before Reginald joined the navy, my uncle joined the marines and both ended up on th Hood,my uncle to lost his life in 1941.I have a memorium card which was given to my Grandmother from the Kitchener family commemorating Reginald.It is possible a family member may like this card.

He married George Robinson's daughter and they emigrated to Canada around 1919. Their children were John, Stanley, Leslie, Doris, Kay and Hilda.

I am looking for any family of Maurice Henry Knight born 1894 in the Midhurst area. He moved to Aveley in Essex after the first world war and married Caroline Suzannah Williams about 1920. The rest of Maurice family stayed in the Midhurst area. Siblings of Maurice are, Felix Leopold Knight, Frederick T Knight, Edith Daisy Knight, Winnifred Minnie Knight and Louise Emma Knight. Father, Thomas Knight born about 1847 in West Lavington. Maurice died aged 46 in 1940.

Seeking any information on Derek George Hammond who was fostered but never adopted from an early age. He believed he was from a large family and on his birth cert his father was Charles and mother was Nellie - this might not be the correct birth cert though as he had to trace it himself. Charles Stone, Master Mariner, bc 1792, sometimes says born at Midhurst on census, sometimes Arundel. Married Mary Payne 1817 at Bepton and had 9 children, all born Arundel. I can't get back any further than Charles so any information would be welcome.
