red mail Hills in Lodsworth
Hi I'm looking for confirmation of a William Hills born 1787 - and possibly died in 1883 in Lodsworth. I believe he was a blacksmith, he had a son Henry Hills born in 1828 who also went on to be a blacksmith likley at the same location. William Hills may have had a lodger at his home called James Tribe in 1861. I have a record of William Hills buying the property of South Heath in Lodsword in 1822 for £200. Southeath is likely the building used for the blacksmith. Willliman may have been married to a Jane but I do not know her orginal surname. I have Williams farther down as a Henry Hills born 1766 but nothing is known of the mother. Does anyone have any info to confirm William Hills was a blacksmith in Lodsworth and what were his wifes name and also any info on his parents would be appreciated.

There were many members of this family living in Lodsworth in the 19th century, mainly engaged in Agriculture. My Grandfather, Lawrence William Caesar Hills was born in Lodsworth in 1873.His father was William Hills who was farming at Moorlands when he died in 1874. I have traced my Hills family back to Charles, b.1798 in Lodsworth, and his wife Priscilla (Ayling)but I cannot trace any earlier ancestors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
