red mail Evacuation wartime
I was evacuated to Littlehampton in 1942/3.I was at Miss Refords Boarding School in the town, then digs on Arundel Road and Cornwall Road. Trouble is the school is unknown at the records office. Is there anyone out there who can help me. I was also a choir member at I believe St. Marys church, but photos show a new looking building. Was the old church pulled down, or have I got it wrong, I'm 81 so the memory isn't what it should be. I attended the school which used to be at the end of Cornwall Road, over a stile, across a field then another stile to the school. What school was it?

red mail Childrens Convalescent Home 1957
I was sent to a children's convalescent home in Littlehampton after a serious bout of scarlet fever in about 1957/8.. I was 5 or 6. We used to walk to church on Sundays... I remember sitting in a room with bay windows and having stories read to us.. there were many children there. I have come across Rustington but this seems too big, although one corner does have bay windows. Does this ring any bells with members? I would love to find out exactly where it was and what it was called. The 'teacher' was very like Joyce Grenfell.
