red mail Ann Harmer = John English in Hastings in 1805
Ann Harmer(Harman) was born Ann Hide Taught in Hastings in 1781. She married William Harman in 1797, and I believe had a girl called Mary Ann Harmer(spelling of name keeps changing!) in Hastings in 1797. It would appear that William Harman died in the June of 1798, five months bfore his second daughter, Sarah Harman was born. Sarah Harman went on to marry William Gorringe as Sarah Harmer! (like Mother like Daughter!! when it comes to name changes!!) So Ann then married John English, goodness knows where John came from, or even when he died, as that part of my family history research is a mystery! Same goes for Ann English, nothing much known about her, other than she did have a "third" child, in 1805 in Hastings called Ann English, followed by another daughter called Mary Ann English in 1809, who sadly died aged four months. If anyone can help with any information regarding any of these families, please get in touch. Many thanks, Carol

There were five children: Caroline (b.1855, Tunbridge Wells), Charles Emary (b.1856, Tunbridge Wells), Elizabeth (b.1859, Hadlow), Edith Sarah (b.1863, Hadlow), and Kate (my grandmother, b. 9 Aug 1867, Hadlow). William Emary probably was uncle or cousin to the family of Albert Emary, of Hastings Sussex (1881 Census). Among the few items I have that belonged to Kate Roberts is a news clipping, announcing the marriage of Albert Emary's youngest daughter, Julia Kate, to Fitzpatrick Henry Vernon, 2nd Baron Lyveden (1824-1900), on 15 Oct 1896. I would welcome contact from my cousins who share this ancestry.
