red mail Harry Freeman
Harry was the son of Thomas George Freeman born in 1966 in Kettering, Northants and Ethel Mary Freeman (nee Ramshaw) born 1877 in Bradford, Yorkshire. Harry was also born in Bradford in 1904. They then moved to Brighton, Sussex sometime between 1904 & 1911. Thomas was a commercial traveller. If anyone knows anything about this family I would be very grateful as we thought there was no longer the Freeman name and it seems it may well be going on.
red mail Huckin family
I believe that my grandfather, Edward Huckin, ran or owned a butcher's shop at Seven Dials around 1900 and his son(s) also worked there. I understand that many members of his extended family lived in Brighton late 1800s, early 1900s and indeed the names of his son Alfred George Huckin and nephew Arthur Huckin are listed on the Brighton War Memorial, having lost their lives in WW1. It may be that another son, Edward, was a pupil at Varndean school around early 1900. Any information regarding any member of this family would be appreciated in view of the fact that I know so little about my father's family.

Their parents, respectively, were Henry Edward Cracknell(b. unknown) who was a male nurse and may or may not have been on the Titanic, married to Nancy (Annie) Cracknell (nee Habin, b.1875 chidham, sussex) also a nurse, and Walter Recknell (b 1863 middlesex) owned a chain of tobacconists in brighton, married to Kate Recknell (nee marsh, b.1904, brighton). Any information on these 6 individuals would be a great help, but i am interested in finding their places of burial; which is likely to be somewhere in Brighton, at least for Walter and his family.
Hi Have just received my father's death certificate today. He died in 1961 in the Bevendean Hospital. He lived at 37 Cannon Place, Brighton. There are several queries I have. Can anyone please shed any light on the Hospital (I understand it is no longer standing), I can't find any trace of 37 Cannon Place, would anyone know please if this was a lodging house in or around 1961. Lastly, I think, can't think straight at the moment as I have only today received the death certificate, but where would I go about finding out where my father is buried, or where the funeral would have been held. It may well be that he was cremated, as on the certificate it says that his sister was the informant but she lived in Ireland so it may well be that she had him cremated and took the ashes home. Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Can anyone please help me, or if you need any more information please let me know. Regards Kathryn
