Looking for information on William Aylward. He was born in Billingshurst about 1819. In 1841 he appears to have been a soldier at Croydon Barracks. In 1862 he was still a soldier when his daughter Ada married John Henry Pearson. I can't find any other reference to him.

The Holdens in the early C19th, the family of James Holloway (GGGF)lived in Dry Cotts in 1881 and the family of George Coombes (GGF) who farmed at Frenches Farm in the late C19th into C20th. Children of George & Elizabeth Holden were baptised at Billingshurst 1784 to 1802. Does anyone connect into this family please? I am trying to piece together the Holden families from Billngshurst / Petworth and surrounding villages because they connect somehow with my own Holden ancestors who moved up to Croydon then around North Kent (James Holden b.Chiddingfold 1780).

I have a piece of paper with handwritten information of Israel implying that he was related in some way.I know he was born at Portsmouth in 1834 and died at Silkstead House, Billingshurst 22 May 1917.
