He married Charlotte Joanna Whiteford in 1880 at Christchurch NZ, at which time he is said to be a widower He would be my Great grandfather. He had a son Jack, born 1880 (my grandfather).

Can anyone give more information about Law family. They had/have a vault in St. Peters. James Law, William Law and Sarah Law. Sarah married Henry Bent Ferne in 1785. She died in 1815 and was buried at Woodmansterne. Her baby son James Augustus Frederick Ferne was buried there too in 1796. Her mother was Mary Smithsend Law born about 1739, married to James born about 1742. Other sisters married into Fieldwick and Moody families. Many thanks.

i am trying to trace the Crawte family hop growers in Wrecclesham and also I think in Bourne. There is a family story that a picture was in a local paper of two brothers that are holding a string of hops celebrating a new variety they had introduced possibly from Scotland I had contact with a distant relative who has seen this cutting but can't remember and details concerning date and which newspaper it was.
